About Us

Meadowview Baptist Church is a traditional Southern Baptist church that seeks to make a difference in our world by sharing the good news of Jesus. Established in 1965, Meadowview is located on the southeastern edge of Campbellsville, Kentucky.  If your passion is to make a difference, join us.  There’s a place for you at Meadowview.

Our History

Meadowview was established in April 1965 to meet the needs of a rapidly growing part of the city of Campbellsville. The construction of new homes and subdivisions on the southern edge of the city brought with it a need for more churches to meet the spiritual needs of those moving into the area. Construction began in June, with the first service in the newly completed building held on Sunday, November 21, 1965.

Since then, thousands of worship services have been conducted and hundreds of people have put their faith and trust in Jesus as their Savior. Hundreds more have attended Bible studies and have grown in their personal walk with the Lord. In October 2015, Meadowview observed its’ fiftieth anniversary with a special celebration service, recognizing all of the charter members, recounting our history, and concluding with a fellowship meal.

Our Pastor

Brent T. Gupton has served as Pastor since November 2003. He and his wife, Davina, are both Campbellsville natives. They have two sons, who, with their wives, have two children each. Bro. Brent is a graduate of Taylor County High School, earned his BA degree at Campbellsville University, and has a Master’s degree from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska. He has been in the ministry since 1980.

Our People

Meadowview Baptist Church is made up of hard-working, regular people who have a desire to see others come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. We are business owners, school teachers, farmers, factory workers, housewives, construction workers, retirees, and day laborers, just like you. We have children, college students, young couples, single adults, moms and dads, grandparents, and great-grandparents. We’re a diverse, multi-generational group of people, just like most small-town churches. Our people are friendly, good-hearted, and genuinely glad to welcome everyone who visits with us. We’re not perfect, but we are forgiven.

Our Purpose

We are here to carry out the great commission of Jesus to share the gospel with as many people as we can and tell them that God loves them, Jesus died on the cross for them, and if they will trust in Him, they can be saved from the penalty of their sins. That sounds like a lot, but its really pretty simple. God sent His Son, Jesus, to take our place on the cross and through faith in Him, we can be saved. Our job, as followers of Jesus, is to tell others about Him, help them grow in their faith, and learn how to tell others what Jesus has done for them. Put simply – our purpose is to share Jesus.
